This is the second edition of my 2014 random blog sponsor news. This time we get greener - I'm glad to welcome a new sponsor, and that is ...
VMTurbo
VMTurbo's unique Operations Manager product helps you to ensure workload performance in an automated way, reducing manual administration time & costs and eliminating issues before they arise.
There are numerous factors that impact the availability, performance and effectiveness of your virtualization environment: undersized and oversized VMs, unsuitable storage choices, unbalanced load between hosts, etc. VMTurbo is not only able to detect these issues, it will also figure out effective counter measures and apply them automatically or following your approval.
In today's world you have many choices for hypervisors and cloud product / providers - VMTurbo's Operations Manager covers them all: vSphere, vCloud, Xen, Hyper-V, RHEV, CloudStack (and Citrix CloudPlatform), OpenStack, Azure, and AWS. And its capabilities are extensible by various add-on modules that interact with 3rd party products like NetApp and EMC storage and Cisco UCS Manager.
There is a 30-day trial of their complete suite available, but they also offer the free Virtual Health Monitor product that does "only" monitoring and reporting. Give it a try!
Welcome to VMTurbo, and thank you for sponsoring V-Front.de!
Veeam
Veeam has published Patch 4 of their Backup & Replication 7 product. It brings

and fixes lots of known issues.
They also have Version 8 of their flagship product in the queue. It will be named Availability Suite v8 and will have exiting new features like Backup from (and Veeam Explorer for) Storage Snapshots (HP and NetApp) and EMC Data Domain Boost. With Veeam Cloud Connect they will offer an interface to certified partners that will take your backup data to the cloud. Exciting times ahead!
Unitrends
Unitrends will also take Backup and Disaster Recovery to the cloud. Starting this month a DRaaS (Disaster Recovery as a Service) offering will be available that is based on Unitrends' own No Limits Cloud.
It is also worth mentioning that Unitrends will appear on Gartner's upcoming (yet to be published) Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Backup and Integrated Appliances. It will be in the "top right of the lower left quadrant", and this is a remarkable achievement for the first appearance!
